ADVANCED FRAME BUILDER is a plug-in for Catia V5RXX/ 3DEXPERIENCE that easily helps increase the efficiency and productivity of engineers designing various types of frames. A parametric 2D or 3D mesh is defined in the first step, then double-clicking the mouse allows you to place a stretched beam with a standard or custom profile on it.
The program allows you to create a database of your own profiles as easily as during a classic sketch. The next step is to trim, extrude and create the beam ends. The whole process is intuitive and does not need to be redefined after changing the dimensions of the base mesh or editing the beam.
Information about the beam length is collected and saved in the BOM and transferred to the module for generating flat documentation (Drafting).
Advanced Frame Builder is fast, flexible, parametric, and easy to make changes. The big advantage appreciated by engineers is the ease of converting metric beams to inch beams and the ability to manage know-how. It has huge potential in companies using Catia V5/ 3DEXPERIENCE because it allows it to be adapted to the existing standards: a database of sections, a database of connections, a database of processes.
